Friendship & Boundaries
Your Friend Only Calls When Their Life Is Falling Apart

A crisis-only friendship can contain real affection while still exhausting the person expected to provide unlimited emotional rescue.
Some friendships become an emergency line. Weeks pass without ordinary connection, then the phone rings after a breakup, work disaster, family fight, or financial scare. You care, answer, and realize afterward that nobody asked how you were.
Compassion does not require permanent availability
You can love a friend and still be unable to absorb a two-hour crisis call. Capacity changes from day to day.
Name the missing ordinary friendship
Say that you want connection outside emergencies too. Invite them to coffee, a walk, or a conversation that includes both lives.
Set a limit before resentment speaks for you
Offer twenty minutes, respond the next day, or say you cannot hold the issue tonight. A clear limit is kinder than answering while silently furious.
Notice whether they can reciprocate
A struggling person may need extra support temporarily. A chronic pattern of taking without curiosity reveals a different relationship.
Choose connection that has room for you
An intuitive reading can explore the bond and its lessons, but mutuality must appear in behavior. Visit Psychic Melissa Star for more original guidance.
